Job Summary:

Alt Text Writer

concise, accurate, and accessible alternative text

descriptions

primarily for learners with visual impairments. This role requires a strong command of

written English, subject matter understanding, and a commitment to accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Write clear and meaningful
alt text descriptions
for images, diagrams, and graphics.
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure technical and contextual

accuracy.

Follow WCAG and accessibility guidelines for alt text.
Maintain consistency in tone, length, and formatting across content.
Review and edit existing alt text for quality and compliance.
Work closely with content development and quality assurance teams.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in
English, Humanities, Engineering, or related field
.
Excellent written communication and comprehension skills.
Familiarity with
alt text guidelines and accessibility standards
(e.g., WCAG,

Section 508).

Ability to simplify complex visuals into accurate textual descriptions.
Detail-oriented with strong research and interpretation skills.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

Experience working with
educational publishers or ed-tech com
