Role & responsibilities 1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement integrated sales and marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives. Identify and capitalise on market opportunities to drive revenue and brand growth. Collaborate with executive leadership to set annual sales and marketing targets. 2. Sales Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a high-performing sales team and distributor network. Achieve and exceed annual sales, depletion, and profit goals. Optimise the distribution network to ensure product availability and effective market coverage. Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and ensure timely product delivery. 3. Marketing & Brand Management: Design and execute effective trade and consumer marketing campaigns. Oversee promotional events, tastings, and brand activations to increase consumer engagement. Work closely with brand teams to provide market intelligence and feedback for product innovation and brand positioning. 4. Market Intelligence & Analysis: Conduct regular market research to stay informed on competitor activities, pricing strategies, and consumer trends. Analyse sales data to assess campaign effectiveness and market performance. Provide actionable insights and timely reports to senior leadership. 5. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure full compliance with state and federal laws governing the sale and marketing of alcoholic beverages. Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to sales performance, market activity, and inventory management. 6. Team Leadership & Development: Build and structure a competent and motivated sales and marketing team. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and continuous development of team members. Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and accountable culture. Preferred candidate profile: 10+ years of progressive experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the liquor, beverage, or FMCG sectors. Proven track record of managing regional or national sales teams and achieving revenue goals. Deep understanding of the liquor market, including key accounts and distributor relationships. Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills. Proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and CRM tools. Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory frameworks in the alcohol industry.
