Job Description: We’re looking for a passionate Designer to join our creative team at Akashi. The role involves working closely with the founder and design team to develop textile-led collections that reflect the brand’s philosophy of simplicity, detail, and craft. Key Responsibilities: Develop seasonal collections from concept to final samples in line with Akashi’s design language. Research and source fabrics, embroideries, and surface techniques relevant to each collection. Create mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings for design development. Collaborate with artisans, pattern makers, and production teams to ensure precision and quality. Experiment with silhouettes, textures, and embroidery placements to bring fresh ideas to the table. Assist in fittings, corrections, and sampling processes. Stay updated with textile trends, craft techniques, and evolving design directions in Indian and global markets. Maintain organized design archives, fabric swatches, and reference documentation. Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Fashion Design or Textile Design. 1–3 years of experience in a designer label (exceptional fresh graduates may also apply). Strong knowledge of textiles, fabrics, embroidery, and garment construction. Creative eye for detail, silhouette balance, and color composition. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or hand sketching. Strong communication and coordination skills. Passion for Indian craftsmanship and sustainable design practices.
