Primary Responsibilities Design and implement scalable ML solutions using state-of-the-art generative models Fine-tune and optimize large language models (LLMs) for domain-specific applications Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into products and services Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in generative AI and deep learning Develop pipelines for data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment Ensure model performance, fairness, and interpretability through rigorous testing and validation Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field 7+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 2 years focused on Generative AI Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning techniques Experience with ML Ops tools and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Familiarity with model evaluation techniques and bias/ethical AI metrics Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Py Torch, Hugging Face Transformers Proven excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
