AI Foundry Lead

We are looking for an experienced and hands-onu00A0AI Foundry Lead (Technical Lead)u00A0to join ouru00A0Frontier AI foundRy team (FAIR)u00A0within Philipsu00A0Data & AI Engineeringu00A0organization, part of the globalu00A0Innovation & Design (I&D)u00A0function.

This role will play a key part in exploring, architecting, and realizing next-generation AI capabilities u2014 from experimentation to engineering maturity u2014 enabling Philipsu2019 businesses to accelerate innovation responsibly and effectively. This is a role for someone who thrives on experimentation, cross-functional collaboration, and translating strategic opportunities into tangible technical outcomes.

Theu00A0Frontier AI foundRyu00A0team u2014 a multidisciplinary innovation engine within Philips Data & AI Engineering u2014 responsible for running exploratory sprints, co-developing proofs-of-concept with Philips Business Units (BUs), and building the AI capabilities that power Philipsu2019 next generation of intelligent products and services.

You will report directly to theu00A0Head of Data & AI Business Operationsu00A0and collaborate closely with other Frontier AI initiatives such asu00A0AI Impact Sprints,u00A0AI Launchpads, and co-creation with external partners (AWS,u00A0Azure,u00A0GCP,u00A0OpenAI,u00A0Nvidia, etc.).

Your Role:

• Lead and architect advanced AI capabilities from concept to implementation within the AI Foundry.

• Design, prototype, and scale AI systems leveraging cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern agentic frameworks.

• Translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable technical work packages and execution plans.

• Partner with BUs, Markets, and Functions to identify high-impact use cases and accelerate AI adoption.

• Provide technical leadership across multiple initiatives u2014 balancing experimentation, engineering rigor, and speed.

• Stay ahead of emerging AI, GenAI, and cloud trends to guide strategic technology decisions and inspire the team.

• Support co-creation of reusable capabilities and contribute to Philipsu2019 AI engineering standards and lifecycle practices.

• Foster a culture of innovation, autonomy, and shared ownership u2014 empowering team members to define how to achieve collective goals.

• Bacheloru2019s or Masteru2019s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or AI system design.

• Proven experience architecting and implementing cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Strong knowledge of AI frameworks, large language model integration, and AI agent orchestration.

• Solid understanding of microservices, API-based integration, and MLOps / LLMOps practices.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively across technical and business domains.

• Demonstrated ability to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives with limited oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare-grade AI solutions or regulated product development (a strong plus).

• Familiarity with hyperscaler AI services (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, GCP Vertex AI).

• Experience leading hackathons, innovation sprints, or internal accelerators.

• Understanding of AI lifecycle management and enterprise AI governance frameworks.
