You should have a solid background with more than 3 to 5 years of experience in the US Mortgage Industry, with a minimum of 2 years specializing in core Underwriting. It is essential that you are well-versed in all 4 Cs of Underwriting and possess a deep understanding of Non-Agency/Non-QM (Jumbo loans) underwriting guidelines, demonstrated through at least 1+ years of experience in Manual underwriting. Additionally, familiarity with major Non-QM lenders" guidelines such as Chase, Wells Fargo, US Bank, etc., as well as Bank statement only programs and asset-based income programs, will be advantageous. A comprehensive knowledge of Agency guidelines for Conventional loans (FNMA & FHLMC), FHA, VA, USDA, etc., will also be beneficial. You should have a detailed understanding of Mortgage documents, including Income, Credit, Asset, Appraisal, and other underwriting and compliance documents, as well as the ability to calculate income, LTV, and DTI ratios. Experience with multiple mortgage processing software like Encompass and Empower is preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, along with excellent interpersonal skills are required. You should possess strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, and proficiency in MS Outlook and Office applications. Moreover, you must be capable of conducting research to provide accurate resolutions to queries and escalations. Your responsibilities will include conducting Live/Post Close Manual Underwriting/QC of loan files in accordance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Client/Investor (Chase, Wells Fargo, US Bank, etc.) guidelines. This involves reviewing borrower profiles, assessing credit, income, assets, collateral, compliance, and other lending risks to make informed approval/denial decisions based on the provided information. You will evaluate various types of incomes, creditworthiness, subject property acceptability, asset documents, and other underwriting-related documents to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws. Furthermore, you will identify derogatory events/accounts associated with borrowers, provide recommendations based on loan reviews, maintain necessary reports, and offer training and assistance to junior team members.,
