Advisor, Network Engineering

As an Advisor, Network Engineering at Fiserv, you will play a crucial role as the interface between Fiserv Business Units and customers, ensuring top-notch design and deployment for remote customer network connectivity. Your collaboration with various teams will focus on enhancing network deployments through automation ideas, ultimately increasing productivity and time-to-market, leading to greater revenue. Your involvement in leading technologies and innovation will contribute significantly to the development of an enhanced network architecture, fostering collaboration and contribution as we expand our network and businesses. Your responsibilities will include monitoring a hybrid infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, working with various network platforms, diagnosing and escalating network issues, participating in automation initiatives, maintaining system security measures, and providing mentorship to fellow engineers. Additionally, you will assist internal and external customers with connectivity problems, participate in special project teams for new product designs and implementations, and develop network support structures for new business unit implementations. To excel in this role, you should possess in-depth WAN Engineering skills, a proactive mindset towards automation, strong communication skills, and significant experience in supporting large-scale enterprise networks. You should have hands-on experience in software development (Python, GIT, Ansible, YAML), Layer 3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), various network solutions (SDWAN, MPLS, IPsec, S2S, DMVPN), and Layer 2 protocols (HSRP, VRRP). A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, as well as certifications, would be beneficial. Moreover, knowledge of the Linux/Unix environment, network hardware, packet forwarding architectures, load balancers, and Firewalls are desirable.
