Role Summary: Senior Research Associate – Double Haploids will lead and support research initiatives focused on the development, optimization, and implementation of double haploid (DH) technologies in crop breeding programs. Key Responsibilities: Research & Development : Design and execute experiments to improve DH induction protocols (e.g., anther/microspore culture, haploid induction via in vivo methods). Optimize regeneration and chromosome doubling techniques for target crops. Develop and validate molecular markers for haploid identification and DH confirmation. Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze experimental data using statistical and bioinformatics tools. Prepare technical reports, publications, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration & Training: Collaborate with breeding, biotechnology, and field teams to integrate DH lines into breeding pipelines. Train junior staff and technicians in DH methodologies and lab protocols. Lab & Facility Management: Maintain tissue culture labs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Manage inventory of reagents, consumables, and equipment. Qualifications: Education: Ph.D. in Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field. Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in DH technology, preferably in a commercial or academic breeding program.
