Job Description

Role Summary Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedSenior Software Engineerto join our MOW division. This role involves control software development, testing, and support of embedded software for Nordco machines. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise inC++ and Qt,CODESYS Visualization, andCAN protocol, with a passion for improving software quality throughsimulation-based testingand contributing tocybersecurityinitiatives .

The Advanced Lead -Embedded System Software Engineer is responsible for design, implement and review the feature enhancements, customer requisitions, NPI program for various Nordco machine platforms .

In this role, Advanced Lead - Embedded System Software Engineer shall utilize his/her experience and expertise to:

Lead the design and development of embedded software usingC++ and Qtfor Nordco machine platforms.

Develop and maintain C++ based embedded control software for machine control interfaces.

Develop and maintain Qt-based applications, includingQtfor HMI and operator interfaces.

Develop and maintainCODESYS-based applications, includingCODESYS Visualizationfor HMI and operator interfaces.

Implement and troubleshootCAN protocol-based communicationbetween embedded systems and machine components.

Drive improvements insoftware testing, virtualisation, including transitioning from manual testing tosimulation-based approaches.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve field issues, implement bug fixes, and integrate customer feedback.

Participate in and help guideAgile developmentprocesses, including sprint planning and task tracking inJira.

Support and contribute toproduct cybersecurityinitiatives and secure software development practices.

Document the implementation in compliance with Quality Management Systems standards.

Collaborate with other developers, System engineers, subsystem engineers, project managers, Field Engineers, test engineers, and customers.

Participate Support Design verification/validation in end customer sites in India & Globally.

Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.

Participate as a presenter/reviewer in technical and program reviews.

Qualification Requirement:

Bachelor 's/ Master's in Engineering in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical engineering , or a related field.

8 to 1 0 years of hands-on experience in embedded real-time software design and development using RTOS Linux/QNX using C/C++. Qt .

Strong technical aptitude, problem solving and effective verbal and written communication skills .

Hands-on experience withCODESYS, includingIEC 61131-3 programmingandCODESYS Visualization is an added advantage .

Strong understanding and practical experience withCAN protocoland related debugging tools .

Experience in networking protocols TCP/UDP, Serial protocols, MODBUS.

Experience in working with Configuration management tools like Perforce, GitLab.

Background inmanual and automated testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or simulation-based testing

Ability to write code aligning with Cyber security policies, well versed with SAST, DAST, Threat Modeling , BlackDuck , Coverity and VectorCast tools.

Ability to work using virtual machines and test environment.

Strong in stage gate review processes.

Proficiency with Agile tools and practices, especiallyJiraand Git-based version control.

Ability to work in collaboration with cross functional systems and subsystems teams.

Ability to work in hardware integrated test environment and hands-on using the simulators and test equipment.

Past experience in safety critical applications like locomotive control systems.

Expertise in implementing DevOps Methodologies and tools.

Shell Scripting, Python knowledge is good to have.

In depth knowledge of Operating systems , Virtualization. Linux knowledge Mandatory.

In depth knowledge of DevOps tools and workflows.

Experience in Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins/GitLab and build automation.

Expertise in design and development of CI CD pipelines for automated code analysis, test automations, build & deployment automations on Cloud and dedicated hosting platforms.

Understanding of server technologies Apache Tomcat, IIS.

Experience in any of the configuration management and application lifecycle management tools.

Experience in integration of Jenkins with Test automation tools such as Selenium etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing or integratingsimulation environmentsfor embedded software testing.

Knowledge ofcybersecurity principlesin embedded systems.

Background in industrial automation, rail, or heavy machinery domains.
