Role: Process Engineer (Junior/Mid-level) Education: A bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or a related field Experience: 02-05 years Location: Delhi/NCR, India Responsibilities: Develop process flowsheets (PFDs), P&IDs, and mass and energy balances for battery recycling processes. Prepare technical documentation, including a process design package (PDP) for internal and external stakeholders. Support scale-up to establish commercial-scale plants, including detailed process engineering calculations. Support commissioning, startup, and validation of new process lines and systems. Collaborate with the team on equipment sizing, selection, integration, and testing. Evaluate and optimise reactions, reagent usage, and chemical kinetics for metal extraction and separation. Participate in HAZOP reviews, technology risk assessments, and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions to maintain product quality and operational reliability. Analyse process data to drive continuous improvement in yield, throughput, energy consumption, and chemical usage. Work cross-functionally with R&D, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of processes. Ensure all processes meet environmental, health, and safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety across all engineering activities. Mentor junior staff and contribute to skill development within the team. Requirements: 2-5 years of relevant experience in process engineering; EPC firm background preferred, but not required. Familiarity with recycling processes, solid-liquid separation, crystallisation, and electrochemical systems is preferred. Experience with process modelling software (e.g. Aspen Plus) and AutoCAD preferred.. Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
