Accounts Payable

Role & Responsibilities

• Receive, match, and code purchase ledger invoices to POs and GRNs, and enter onto the accounting system once necessary authorization is obtained.
• Ensure a high volume of invoices are processed onto the accounting system daily and paid within terms, communicating with management if there are any risks to paying to terms.
• Ensure client and statutory deadlines are met.
• Resolve complex queries within department SLAs.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors regularly concerning account status and payment dates, ensuring that payments are processed in a timely manner.
• Set up new supplier accounts in Microsoft Dynamics once necessary authorization is received.
• Reconcile supplier statements/accounts and deal with queries.
• Create weekly/bi-weekly payment schedules and proposed payment runs.
• Complete credit application forms.
• Manage the filing system to ensure that all documents/invoices can be easily accessed.
• Support new starters and ongoing team training to ensure the wider business is compliant with the Group's DOA.
• Perform ad hoc duties/projects as required.

• Reconcile multiple company credit cards.
• Proactively resolve debit balances on the purchase ledger and obtain VAT invoices for pro-forma invoices.
• Manage month-end checks and closure of the purchase ledger.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Education and Qualifications

• Graduate in Finance (BCOM, MCOM, etc.)

Experience

• Previous experience of working in a purchase ledger role for an SME or larger.
• Experience of working with purchase orders.
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of purchase ledger processes and ensure workload is consistently managed in line with business and Group procedures.
