The Accounting & Auditing Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and internal policies. This role also involves conducting internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls, risk management processes, and operational procedures.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable.
Support the preparation of tax returns and compliance with local tax regulations.
Collaborate with external auditors and provide documentation for annual audits
Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance, and risk management.
Evaluate operational efficiency, financial reporting accuracy, and policy compliance.
Document audit findings and prepare clear and concise audit reports.
Recommend improvements to accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.
Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation of corrective actions.
Stay updated on changes in accounting and auditing standards and regulations.
