Job Summary

We are seeking an Accountant (Indirect Tax) to join our GLBL BusSvcs Tax-Bangalore -Global Finance Services Division.

The incumbent would be an Individual contributor who would drive GST/VAT compliance and reporting function combining tax knowledge with necessary automation, to streamline global indirect tax compliances

The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield, Bangalore office

What you will do

• Prepare and Submit EU VAT returns, EC Sales List, Intrastat, other indirect tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
  Lead complex VAT reconciliations ensuring accuracy and robust control over indirect tax accounts
• 
  Analyse and validate compliance data, flagging issues and collaborating with teams to resolve them efficiently.
• 
  Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding compliance-related matters.
• 
  Ensure adherence to indirect tax processes and update procedures as needed to reflect evolving business requirements.
• 
  Identify and implement opportunities for improving indirect tax compliance/reporting processes.
• 
  Lead automation projects involving Power BI, Alteryx and ERP enhancements
• 
  Support with Indirect tax landscape during setup of new entities
• 
  Leverage technology to streamline and automate tax calculations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• 
  Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required by the indirect tax team.

What you will have

• Degree in finance, accounting, tax, or related field.
• Core experience with Global VAT/GST VAT indirect tax accounting
• Working knowledge of SAP and tax tools like Avalara, Vertex, GVRT, is preferred
• Robust knowledge of MS Excel, PowerBI/ Tableau/ Alteryx
• Ability to analyse large data volumes to identify key insights.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven with a critical and positive can-do attitude.
• Comfortable collaborating with various subject matter experts.\
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.
• Qualification: Accounting/Finance Degree
• Experience (in years): 3-5 years of relevant indirect tax experience (CA) or 6+ years of relevant indirect tax experience
  Experience in Big 4 (Indirect Tax domain) / Tax CoE Setup or fast-paced industry (indirect tax teams preferred)
• Certifications: Any Indirect tax related certifications
• This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office

Level Working Knowledge: Applies principles used to evaluate the economics of investment decisions. Interprets major types of financial statements issued by the organization. Utilizes basic qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques with proficiency. Works with a specific financial analysis tool set. Implements valid financial analysis aligned with key criteria. Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
Level Working Knowledge: Follows organizational practices and guidelines for product profitability reporting. Analyzes errors or inaccuracies in financial reports. Uses basic tools to create simple financial reports. Monitors compliance with organizational standards for financial report writing. Implements organizational methods and procedures for financial report writing.
