Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage complete books of accounts journal entries, ledgers, trial balance, profit & loss, and balance sheet preparation.
  • Prepare and verify invoices, work orders, purchase orders, and credit/debit notes. Ensure accuracy of GST computation and client billing in line with project milestones.
  • Track receipts and payments across cash, bank, and UPI channels; maintain petty cash registers; reconcile accounts daily and monthly.
  • Allocate costs to individual projects/sites, track material purchases, subcontractor payments, and site expenses. Generate project-wise profitability reports.
  • Handle all statutory compliances including GST returns, TDS deductions, PF/ESI filings, and professional tax. Maintain up-to-date records and coordinate with consultants for filings.
  • Prepare audit schedules, liaise with auditors, and ensure timely closure of statutory, internal, and tax audits.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly MIS, cash flow statements, ageing analysis of receivables and payables, and financial summaries for management review.
  • Regularly reconcile vendor ledgers, subcontractor accounts, and client statements; ensure all pending balances are verified and settled.
  • Coordinate with banks, consultants, and departments for financial documentation, loan/LC matters, and compliance certificates.
  • Work on digitizing and streamlining accounting workflows via Tally Prime, Excel, or ERP systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Strong command over Tally Prime, MS Excel, and exposure to ERP/project accounting tools.
  • Hands-on experience with construction or project-based accounting (site-level and HO consolidation).
  • Analytical mindset, accuracy, and high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills to work with site engineers, vendors, and management.
  • Ability to independently manage end-to-end accounting with minimal supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    B.Com / M.Com / CA (Inter) / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    5-10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in

    construction, infrastructure, or contracting firms

    .
  • Software Proficiency:

    Tally Prime, Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables), and familiarity with digital filing systems and GST portals.
