Headquartered in Bakersfield, California, with operations in Ahmedabad, India, CBCC Global Research partners with innovative biopharma companies to bring innovator and complex generic drugs to market.

Position Summary

CBCC Global Research is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support all accounting and financial operations for the U.S. Business Unit. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards, while supporting day-to-day accounting activities and month-end close processes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations for the U.S. Business Unit, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Purchase Orders
  • Prepare weekly financial reports including A/R, A/P, and Cash Flow statements
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and closing activities
  • Prepare vendor payment sheets and employee reimbursement schedules
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate/resolution of discrepancies in financial data
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support annual external audits and tax filing requirements
  • Track and prepare Budget vs. Actual analysis for assigned projects/studies
  • Receive assignments from the Department Head and execute as per established policies and procedures
  • Compile, review, and organize accounting documents such as invoices, payments, and business transactions
  • Scan and maintain supporting transaction documents in cloud-based storage systems
  • Verify invoice accuracy and reconcile with sponsor contracts
  • Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, and reports using accounting software
  • Reconcile corporate credit card statements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and organizational information
  • Enter financial data into company systems in compliance with legal and internal requirements
  • Support other accounting team members and perform additional duties as assigned by management

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA in Finance preferred)
  • 2 to 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Prior experience in Life Sciences, CRO, Biotech, or Technical Consulting industries preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; working knowledge of IFRS reporting preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
