Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

GST Compliance:

  • Return Filing

    : Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (e.g., GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) as per the statutory deadlines.
  • Tax Payments

    : Calculate and ensure timely payment of GST liabilities to avoid interest or penalties.
  • Invoicing & ITC

    : Verify the correctness of GST rates applied on both sales and purchase invoices. Reconcile Input Tax Credit (ITC) with GSTR-2A, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • GST Reconciliation

    : Perform reconciliation between GST returns and the general ledger, ensuring accurate tax reporting.
  • Documentation

    : Maintain all GST-related records, including invoices, returns, and reconciliation reports for audits.
  • GST Audits

    : Assist in handling GST audits, assessments, and queries from tax authorities, ensuring compliance with laws and prompt responses.

TDS Compliance:

  • TDS Deductions

    : Ensure timely and accurate deduction of TDS on various payments such as salaries, contractor payments, professional fees, rent, and interest.
  • Return Filing

    : Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.) as per statutory deadlines.
  • TDS Payments

    : Ensure timely deposit of TDS payments to the government.
  • TDS Certificates

    : Prepare and issue TDS certificates (Form 16/16A) to employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Reconciliation

    : Reconcile TDS amounts with financial records and returns. Identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • TDS Audits

    : Assist in TDS audits and assessments by providing documentation and responding to notices.

Coordination & Support:

  • Inter-departmental Coordination

    : Work closely with the finance and procurement teams to ensure correct application of GST and TDS on transactions.
  • Internal Queries

    : Handle queries from internal stakeholders on GST and TDS matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in managing GST, TDS, and other tax compliances.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax laws, including GST and TDS regulations.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
