Academic Counselor (EdTech)
About The Opportunity
We're hiring a remote Academic Counselor to join a fast-paced digital learning environment focused on driving student success and enrollment growth. You will be the first point of contact for prospective learners, converting interest into committed learners through discovery, guidance, and relationship-driven follow-up while collaborating closely with academic and product teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery and advisory calls with prospective learners to assess academic goals, recommend suitable programs, and guide course selection to improve fit and conversion.
- Qualify inbound leads, handle outbound follow-ups, and manage the end-to-end enrollment lifecycle to meet weekly and monthly conversion targets.
- Maintain accurate lead and student records in the CRM; log interactions, update statuses, and coordinate handoffs to operations and faculty teams.
- Onboard newly enrolled learnersconduct orientation sessions, explain program timelines, and ensure timely access to LMS resources.
- Track and report counseling KPIs (conversion rates, response time, NPS/CSAT) and propose process improvements to increase retention and lifetime value.
- Collaborate with marketing and product to provide learner feedback, suggest curriculum adjustments, and support campaign-related outreach.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in academic counseling, admissions, or high-volume enrollment sales within EdTech or education services.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken) with demonstrable phone and video counselling experience.
- Hands-on experience using CRM and outreach platforms (e.g., Salesforce / HubSpot / Zoho CRM) and basic familiarity with LMS tools (e.g., Moodle / Google Classroom).
- Comfortable working remotely with flexible hours to cover lead response SLAs across time zones.
- Ability to analyze simple performance metrics and use MS Excel or equivalent to maintain dashboards and reports.
Preferred
- Experience with international student admissions or vocational/corporate training enrolments.
- Training or certification in counseling, career guidance, or student advising.
- Multilingual capability (e.g., Hindi, regional Indian languages) to support wider candidate pools.
