Job Description

Responsible for enhancement of existing or new development of network (or network tower) architecture and components as per the business requirements within the set timeline.

We are seeking a highly skilled 5G Core Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of next generation Private 5G Network for enterprise.

The role requires deep expertise in 3GPP-defined core network functions, with strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, service-based interfaces, and network slicing.

The SME will act as the go-to authority for End-to-End 5G Core architecture, providing guidance on system integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across SA (Standalone) deployments. This role will also involve close collaboration with RAN, transport, and cloud infrastructure teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing 5G Core solutions tailored to enterprise requirements.

Responsibilities

1. 5G Core Subject Matter Expert (SME) Have prior experience in handling private 5G network is an added advantage.
2. Design, deploy, and optimize 5G Core (5GC) network functions including AMF, SMF, UPF, AUSF, UDM, PCF, NRF, and NSSF.
3. Provide subject matter expertise on 3GPP Release 15/16/17 standards and integration with SA/NSA architectures.
4. Define end-to-end 5G Core architecture covering mobility management, session management, and service orchestration.
5. Lead integration of 5GC with RAN (gNB), IP transport, and Edge/MEC platforms.
6. Ensure service-based architecture (SBA) security using TLS, OAuth2, API security, and network exposure function (NEF) policies.
7. Troubleshoot and optimize control plane and user plane traffic, monitoring latency, throughput, and QoS/QoE KPIs.
8. Support network slicing design, deployment, and SLA enforcement across industries (enterprise/private 5G use cases).
9. Perform vendor evaluations and interoperability testing with multi-vendor cloud-native 5G core solutions (VNFs/CNFs).
10. Collaborate on cloud-native deployments with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and NFV infrastructure.
11. Conduct capacity planning, performance optimization, and resiliency testing for 5GC functions.
12. Provide expert support for network migration, upgrades, and 4G EPC to 5GC interworking (NGC).
13. Document architecture designs, deployment guidelines, and knowledge transfer materials for operations teams.
