Join our product team of developers, designers, and a design systems manager to create a companywide Web Component based library and design system that will be adopted by a global suite of digital products. We are looking for a designer with proven experience in working on a design system within Figma and who is enthusiastic about creating scalable Figma components and intuitive documentation for other designers and product teams. Your curiosity and eagerness to adopt new technologies for scalable and maintainable solutions will be invaluable. You are deeply committed to the impact our product and team aims to achieve while focusing on deliverables. Your role will involve supporting the adoption of the component library by providing guidance to other designers, sharing best practices, and occasionally offering feedback on their designs. You will play a key role in ensuring that the component library evolves to meet the needs of our users both now and in the future. Key responsibilities and day-to-day tasks include applying a product-driven approach to work, aligning the team's backlog with the design system roadmap goals, designing new visual components, enhancing existing components as per the backlog requirements, maintaining visual and interaction design consistency across SKF, documenting component and interaction pattern decisions, and producing user-friendly documentation in the design system hub. You will be expected to keep abreast of emerging trends and collaborate closely with other designers, developers, and product teams to ensure the design system remains relevant and useful. The ideal candidate should have a design education or employed experience of at least 4 years, excluding internships, the ability to foster alignment and progress across a diverse design community, proven experience in Figma, familiarity with tools like Zero Height, effective communication skills for interacting with designers from various teams and conducting demos/presentations, a clear interest in building a product community of designers and developers, experience in international or European companies, and a plus if they possess an understanding of coding/front-end development.
