JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title : CMM Programmer & Operator (Zeiss) Dept/Section : Quality CTC Education Diploma / B.E Mechanical Location Peenya Bangalore ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS Report To : QC Manager Supervises / manages : Standard Room, Measuring Equipments & CMM Co-ordinates with : Production, Quality & Development Internal : Production, Quality & Development PURPOSE OF THE POSITION : Handling of Standard Room, Measuring Equipment & CMM RESPONSIBILITIES 1 Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements. 2 Ensure that precision machinery is in working condition and properly calibrated. 3 Operate precision machinery as needed. 4 Write or edit programs for precision machinery. 5 Exhaustive planning of all the measurement systems, CMM, gauges and measuring fixtures etc 6 A good working knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T 7 As the machinery is measuring items for safety reasons, the operator must be confident with using computers to guarantee accuracy, as well as possess good math and geometry skills.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining measurement methods and inspection plans to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems used in quality control and manufacturing processes. Operating and programming CMM machines such as ZEISS and Mitutoyo, analyzing measurement data, and troubleshooting discrepancies will be part of your key responsibilities. Additionally, you will support the calibration and maintenance of metrology equipment and collaborate with quality and production teams to resolve measurement issues. To qualify for this role, you should have a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Knowledge of CMM machines and metrology tools, familiarity with GD&T and technical drawings, and experience with software like CALYPSO, PC-DMIS, or similar would be advantageous. Operating CMMs: Using Zeiss Calypso software to operate CMMs, including setting up and calibrating the machine for inspection runs. Programming CMMs: Developing and optimizing measurement programs for CMMs using Calypso, potentially including creating programs from CAD files or other inputs. Measurement and Inspection: Conducting precise measurements and inspections of machined parts to verify dimensions, tolerances, and other quality parameters. Data Analysis: Analyzing CMM data, interpreting results, and identifying potential issues or deviations from specifications. Reporting: Preparing detailed inspection reports and documentation, and maintaining accurate records of inspection activities. Troubleshooting: Conducting regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CMM machines to ensure their proper functioning. Collaboration: Working with other team members, including engineers and machinists, to optimize inspection processes and improve overall quality.

Responsibilities: Operate and program Zeiss CMM machines using Calypso software. Inspect precision automotive parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements. Create and modify measurement programs based on product changes or engineering revisions. Analyze measurement data and generate inspection reports. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating Zeiss CMM with Calypso software in an automotive or precision manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GD&T. Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
