As a Research Assistant in Zoology/Aquaculture, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in animal research. To be eligible for this role, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Zoology or Aquaculture and a Master's degree in Zoology or Zoology (Biotech) or Aquaculture. Fluency in both Tamil and English is essential to effectively communicate with fish vendors, local aquaculturists, and traditional fish veterinarians. Candidates with a background in B.Tech, M.Tech, DMLT, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotech, Ph.D., or D.Pharm are not eligible for this position. Additionally, candidates with less than 2 years of experience will not be considered for this role. Your responsibilities will include participating in scientific regulatory research/studies related to your field of study, running multiple experiments simultaneously, ensuring high-quality and timely completion of studies, and continuously improving your competency in Zoology. You will assist the Study Director in operating instruments and machinery, preparing regulatory data, and conducting various tasks related to animal experiments. Collaboration with fellow scientists and researchers, designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and delivering results will be a crucial part of your role. You should be proactive, adaptable to challenges, and capable of working independently as well as in a team. Knowledge of animal studies, animal handling, dosing procedures, regulatory requirements, and documentation is essential for this position. Experience with batch screening, quality work output, and handling Zebrafish will be advantageous. Flexibility to troubleshoot problems, meet deadlines, and work occasional extended hours is required. This full-time permanent position is based in Chennai, with a day shift schedule from 9 am to 6 pm.
