As a z/OS Assembler Specialist in Development & Maintenance, you will be an integral part of our product R&D support and APARs development team for a Mainframe (z/OS) product. Joining a new engineering team, your primary responsibilities will involve enhancing product support and developing APARs for critical Mainframe z/OS software. Your role will include developing, testing, and implementing diagnostic tools and processes to improve product supportability. Additionally, you will play a key role in APARs development cycles, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining quality standards. Taking ownership of specific technical tasks, you will drive them to completion with a sense of urgency. Continuously learning and sharing knowledge and best practices will be vital to contributing to the growth of the team. Collaborating cross-functionally, you will work to ensure that software quality aligns with customer expectations. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar engineering role within a Mainframe z/OS environment. Your deep proficiency in Mainframe z/OS, including JCL, JES2(3), SMS, and z/OS internals, will be essential. You should be capable of analyzing dumps using IPCS and possess a deep understanding and coding experience in z/Assembler. Knowledge in SMP/E, the ability to engage in technical discussions and problem analysis with customers, and a results-driven, problem-solving mindset are key qualifications. You should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Desirable qualifications include experience with Java, C, and C++, familiarity with Unix System Services and Language Environment, and a background working in an enterprise product-based company.,
