The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst position is an intermediate level role where you will be responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. Your main objective in this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. As a part of your responsibilities, you will be managing development teams in mainframe technology, which includes conducting code reviews, status reviews, and managing delivery expectations. You should be willing to be hands-on, code, and design based on user requirements. Additionally, you will be recommending system improvements that will add value to business users and enhance system stability. It is crucial for you to support issues that arise in Production and join business calls as necessary. Providing regular status updates to the manager and working with minimal supervision are also part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should have at least 12 years of IT experience and expertise in the Mainframe environment covering COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, and zAPIs. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the banking industry and 3 years of leading Mainframe development teams is required. Working experience in a multi-tech stack environment with Java frontend and mainframe on the backend is preferred. Being a good communicator and capable of handling stakeholders in other regions is essential. Exposure to wealth management platforms is a plus, and willingness to learn new tech stacks in the future as the Citi wealth platform modernizes is expected. The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience. This job description provides a high-level overview of the work performed.
