Required Skills And Qualifications Proven experience as a NOC Technician, System Engineer, or in a similar role within IT operations (2-5 years). Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, and VPNs. Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, or equivalent). Proficient knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP). Understanding of network security principles and best practices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, access control). Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols including BGP , ISIS , and MPLS . Perform route verification, path analysis, and assist in traffic engineering. Respond to network faults, alarms, and performance issues with quick turnaround. Coordinate with field engineers, data center teams, and upstream ISPs for fault resolution. Maintain proper documentation for configuration, incidents, and network diagrams. Work in rotational shifts and provide Level 2–3 support as part of 24x7 operations. Escalate unresolved or chronic issues to L3/Core team with detailed analysis and logs. Participate in scheduled maintenance windows for upgrades and preventive activities. Technical Skills Required: Strong experience on Nokia (7250/7750/IXR) or Huawei NE series routers. Solid command over BGP , MPLS LDP , ISIS , OSPF , and Layer 2/3 troubleshooting . Understanding of VRRP, route policies, prefix lists, QoS, interface tuning. Familiarity with NMS and network monitoring tools (e.g., Nokia NSP, Zabbix ). Comfortable with CLI-based troubleshooting and syslog/event analysis. Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field. Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with Nokia or Huawei routers in an ISP/NOC environment. Certifications (Mandatory or Preferred): Mandatory : At least one of the following: Nokia NRS I / NRS II Huawei HCIA / HCIP (Routing & Switching or Datacom) Preferred: CCNA / CCNP (Service Provider) JNCIA / JNCIS (SP) Soft Skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities Clear and concise communication skills (verbal and written) Team player with accountability for uptime and service quality Capable of working under pressure and managing critical incidents Show more Show less
