Yard Controller

As an experienced candidate with 3 to 7 years in cargo, logistics, or transport industries, your role will involve coordinating operations efficiently to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. Your responsibilities will include: - Communicating with the previous Shift Incharge to review any special instructions for the shift. - Ensuring the timely arrival of clerks and load men for the shift. - Holding brief meetings to discuss the plan for the day. - Monitoring en route vehicles to ensure on-time arrival. - Coordinating with agents to confirm vehicle requirements for collection and clearance. - Dispatching route vehicles according to the schedule. - Verifying the arrival of all local vehicles before the cut-off time. - Providing clear instructions to duty staff on booking priorities, arrival dates, and customer-specific requirements. - Accompanying loading/unloading clerks for handling items. - Inspecting loaded/unloaded goods and checking against FMS entries for accuracy. - Notifying Managers of any operational deviations. - Reviewing entries to ensure correct documentation. - Promoting safe handling practices among load men. - Ensuring load men handle up to 8 MT per shift. - Prioritizing vehicles in transit and following any special instructions from Managers. - Providing training to load men and clerks. - Ensuring timely delivery by retaining goods for specified dates and making necessary arrangements.
