As a part of the Cost Reduction department at Varex Imaging, headquartered in Salt Lake City, USA, we are seeking a skilled R&D engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with various modalities such as CT, mammography, CV, and radiography, contributing to a range of projects and validation efforts. Our components are integral to numerous medical, industrial, and security imaging applications worldwide, playing a crucial role in improving and saving lives by making the invisible visible. As an engineer in our Cost Reduction department, you will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and validating cost-effective designs and manufacturing methods for X-ray tubes across different modalities. This involves statistical analysis of performance criteria, documentation of drawings and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing projects to completion. Utilizing tools such as 3D modeling software, statistical analysis software, and dimensional measuring equipment, you will be instrumental in driving cost reduction initiatives. Your role will encompass utilizing engineering disciplines to develop, test, and qualify components from new suppliers, collaborating with various teams to validate components, troubleshooting issues, and communicating progress to senior leadership. Your profile should include a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong engineering skills, and familiarity with tools such as ANSYS and Solidworks. Experience in manufacturing and assembly processes, electro-mechanical components, and X-ray systems will be advantageous. You should possess the ability to perform statistical analyses, communicate effectively with vendors, and demonstrate a track record of successfully bringing products to market. A self-driven individual with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving will thrive in this dynamic environment. This role may involve physical demands such as lifting/moving heavy equipment, reaching above the shoulder, and wearing personal protective equipment. Varex Imaging, headquartered in Salt Lake City, USA, is a leading innovator, developer, and manufacturer of X-ray imaging component solutions, which includes X-ray tubes, digital flat panel detectors, software, and other key components of X-ray imaging systems. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer - Braze and Furnace Specialist to join our rapidly growing team in Pune. Your Role Ensure work area meets established cleanliness and safety standards. Gather parts and fixtures and assemble as per product-specific work instructions. Mix, heat, monitor, and dispose various chemical mixtures including acids, alkaline, solvents, and detergents. Clean and prepare parts used in X-ray assemblies. Familiarity with metal plating and chemical processes. Mask and chrome glass components. Perform vacuum brazing, hydrogen firing, and outgassing of parts and components used in the manufacture of X-ray tubes. Conduct acceptance tests to ensure assemblies meet specifications. Record test data per GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Perform daily maintenance and basic equipment troubleshooting. Train new operators on braze and furnace processes. Proficiency in creating, reviewing, and editing relevant technical documents. Utilize good time management skills for on-time delivery of assignments. Manage projects of moderate scope as assigned. Organize and conduct meetings. Document work/deliverables according to company standards and industry regulations. Normally receive little or no instruction on day-to-day work; general instructions on new assignments. Your Profile Bachelor's degree in metallurgy or chemistry (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or a master's degree in metallurgy or chemistry with 3 years of related experience.
