We have been mandated by a large global conglomerate for the below mentioned position. Position: Senior Manager - WTP Project and Operation Experience : 12+ Years Location: Durgapur, West Bengal Educational Qualification- Diploma/BE/B. Tech- Mechanical Job Purpose: To lead the mechanical engineering, execution, and operation of Water Treatment Plant (WTP) systems in a power plant environment, ensuring mechanical integrity, equipment reliability, and continuous availability of treated water for boiler and auxiliary requirements. Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Project Execution: Lead planning, design review, procurement, and mechanical installation of WTP systems including: Raw water intake & pumping systems Clarifiers, filters, softeners, demineralization (DM) units Reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), and chemical dosing systems Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, and consultants to ensure equipment meets project specifications and standards. Monitor project progress against schedule and resolve site-level mechanical execution challenges. Oversee mechanical erection, alignment, welding, hydro-testing, and mechanical commissioning. WTP Operations (Mechanical Scope): Supervise operation and maintenance of rotating and static mechanical equipment: pumps, blowers, agitators, pipelines, valves, tanks, strainers, etc. Ensure efficient functioning of mechanical components for optimal WTP output (boiler feed water, cooling water, etc.). Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs, spares planning, and breakdown troubleshooting. Implement energy-saving initiatives and mechanical system upgrades. Technical Documentation & Compliance: Maintain as-built mechanical drawings, O&M manuals, equipment history cards, and P&IDs. Ensure mechanical systems meet ISO, ASME, BIS, and local regulatory requirements. Conduct mechanical inspections, reliability audits, and risk assessments. Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and WTP operators. Coordinate with electrical/instrumentation, process, and operations teams for integrated performance. Drive training programs for mechanical O&M practices, safety, and reliability. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and conduct HAZOP and job safety analysis (JSA) for all mechanical activities. Support zero-leakage and zero-accident objectives in water systems.
