Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer for welding department to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding processes, materials, and standards, with expertise in preparing welding qualification documents, WPS, PQR, and WPQ as per ASME and ISO standards. The candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of mechanical and chemical testing of materials, and hands-on experience with welding machines and parameters. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) as per ASME and ISO standards. Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards for welding activities. Interpret engineering drawings and standards to finalize filler wires, welding parameters, and other welding-related specifications. Optimize welding processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Conduct and oversee mechanical and chemical testing of materials to ensure compliance with project requirements. Analyze test data and provide recommendations for material selection and welding processes. Hands-on experience with welding machines and understanding of welding parameters. Troubleshoot welding equipment and process-related issues. Ensure welding activities meet quality standards and project specifications. Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with welding procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution. Mentor and guide junior engineers and welding technicians. Identify and resolve welding-related issues during fabrication and production. Provide technical support for root cause analysis and corrective actions. Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering. CSWIP or AWS certification is a strong advantage Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in welding engineering. Proven experience in preparing WPS, PQR, and WPQ as per ASME and ISO standards. Hands-on experience with welding machines and parameters. Fabrication experience of Stainless steel, alloy steel, and aluminium alloys/ Technical Skills: Understanding of mechanical and chemical testing and properties of materials. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and standards. Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

Must Have: Working Experience: EN 15085 Independent Welding Sequence Development Railway Product Experience Certification: CSWIP 3.1/IWT/IWE/AWS Responsibilities: Lead welding projects. Ensure proper implementation of welding procedures. Develop new welding processes (PQR/WPS) for GTAW, PAW. Conduct regular training for welders and shift supervisors. Manage welding consumables and procurement. Prepare technical reports and summaries. Conduct root cause analysis for repairs and maintenance investigations. Roles & Responsibilty - Performing inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products: Ensuring that they meet quality standards. NDT Qualification: Should be conversant with NDT procedure and qualified as ASNT NDT Level-II in RT, PT , UT & MT Manufacturing Process Knowledge- Required knowledge in Fabrication of Pressure Vessel, Piping and Structural items, Painting , Rubber / FRP Lining Inspection Knowledge- Required knowledge in Receipt Inspection, In process and Final Inspection ( Pre Delivery Inspection) Calibration of Instruments- Basic knowledge about different instrument , use and calibration process knowledge Welding Procedure Qualification Preparation of WPS,PQR,WPQ for Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Duplex Material Code Knowledge- Interpretation of ASME Sec.II,VIII & IX , ANSI 31.3 Other Responsibilities: Collaborating with other engineers and departments: Working with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality is integrated into all aspects of the project or product development. Candidates who have worked in Similar Industry on Equipment Like Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns only shall apply. Profile: ASNT Level II (RT, PT, UT) Knowledge about inspection of fabrication & testing of equipment's like Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Condensers, Columns, Storage tank, Reactors. Awareness about ASME code sections related to construction of Pressure vessels. Knowledge of IBR & U Stamp requirements will be an added advantage. Review & follow of fabrication drawing, QA documents such as Quality Assurance Plan and inspection & testing procedures. Inspection of receiving raw material with respect to drawing, QAP & purchase order. Coordination with third party inspectors from TPI agencies for inspection Thorough Knowledge about welding processes and welding related documents like WPS, PQR, WPQ. Familiar with methods and usage of testing instruments like surface profile gauge, DFT meter, Ultrasonic thickness gauge, welding gauges & measuring instruments Witness of Non-destructive examinations & interpretation of results of NDE methods mainly LPT & RT. Notifying the Non-Conformance identified during inspection and recommending corrective & remedial actions. Conducting all stage wise & final Inspection activities with respect drawing, QAP & customer specifications. Preparing inspection reports as the QAP. Communication with clients, design department, production department.

Requirements : Qualification: Diploma ((Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering) and / or B.E. (Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering/Production Engineering) Interest in Quality Assurance and Control in a Fabrication & Manufacturing unit, and spending time on the shop floor and conducting the inspections personally Minimum Experience : 2~4 Years in welding and painting inspections for Metal Fabricated components / Heavy Fabrication industry. People from experience solely from auto components industry are not preferred. Knowledge of Non-destructive testing, WPS/PQR/WPQ, reading and assessing material TCs, QAP/ITP. Candidates with NDT Certification (Level 2) for LPT/VT/UT/RT will be preferred. Knowledge of ISO 9001 (QMS). Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project. To check all repairs are perform correctly & nondestructive tests are regularly repeated.
