The Sales & Marketing Manager will drive the company's garment export growth by identifying new international markets, acquiring buyers, and strengthening global brand presence. The role requires a blend of strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management . Unlike merchandising, which focuses mainly on smooth order execution, this position is centered on winning business and building long-term buyer partnerships . Role & responsibilities 1. International Business Development Identify and develop new markets, buyers, and agents for garment exports across the region assigned. Prospect and convert leads into long-term partnerships through trade fairs, exhibitions, networking, and digital outreach. Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective international buyers. 2. Strategic Marketing & Branding Formulate and execute marketing strategies to enhance global brand visibility and achieve sales targets. Oversee development of marketing materials (catalogues, presentations, digital campaigns). Represent the company at international trade shows and buyer meetings. 3. Buyer Relationship & Account Management Build and nurture strong relationships with international buyers and buying houses. Understand buyer requirements, negotiate pricing/contracts, and secure profitable export orders. Ensure high client satisfaction to drive repeat business. 4. Market Research & Competitor Analysis Conduct in-depth market analysis to track global apparel trends, consumer preferences, and competitor strategies. Identify product diversification and sustainability opportunities aligned with emerging market needs. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with merchandising, production, and quality teams to ensure buyer expectations are met. Collaborate with logistics and commercial teams for smooth execution of export documentation and shipments. Provide insights to design and product development teams based on buyer feedback. 6. Reporting & Forecasting Monitor sales performance, order pipeline, and profitability of accounts. Prepare and present regular reports, forecasts, and market insights to senior management. * Role & responsibilities The Merchandiser/Senior Merchandiser will independently manage international buyer accounts, assist Senior Merchandiser, overseeing the complete merchandising cycle from product development and costing to bulk production and shipment until payment follow up. The role demands strong buyer management, technical expertise in garments, negotiation skills, and leadership abilities to ensure profitability, timely execution, and quality compliance. 1. Buyer & Client Management Act as the primary contact for international buyers, buying houses, and agents. Understand buyer requirements, specifications, and expectations thoroughly. Maintain strong relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships. 2. Product Development & Costing Oversee sampling: proto, fit, size set, PP (pre-production), TOP (top of production). Prepare accurate cost sheets, negotiate prices, and finalize order values. Suggest alternatives in fabric/trims for cost optimization and value engineering. 3. Order Execution & Monitoring Take ownership of orders from confirmation to shipment. Prepare & track Time & Action (T&A) calendars to meet all deadlines. Coordinate approvals for fabrics, trims, and samples on time. Monitor production closely, resolving bottlenecks proactively. 4. Vendor & Supplier Coordination Liaise with fabric team, accessory team, suppliers (if required) processors, printers, and embellishment vendors. Negotiate lead times, pricing, and quality standards. Build and maintain a reliable supplier/vendor base. 5. Quality & Compliance Work with QA/QC teams to ensure garments meet buyer quality standards. Manage third-party testing, lab dips, and compliance certifications. Address quality issues promptly to avoid shipment delays or rejections. 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain clear records of approvals, buyer communication, and tech packs. Coordinate with logistics and commercial teams for export documentation. Prepare MIS reports on order status, shipment schedules, payment update and profitability. 7. Team Player & Leader Be a team player and work in coordination with other merchandisers. Take a lead in the role wherever required Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely execution. Provide training and guidance to develop team competency (if required). Qualifications & Experience Graduate / Diploma in Fashion Technology, Apparel Merchandising, Textiles, or related field. 5 to 8 years of experience in garment merchandising, with proven exposure to export markets. Hands-on experience handling international buyers independently & must be open to travel internationally Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, and production processes. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal & negotiation skills. Leadership ability to manage a team and cross-functional coordination. Strong follow-up, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint , and VG/MIS tools.
