As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients both at the scene of an incident and during transport to healthcare facilities. Your primary duties will include responding promptly to emergency calls, assessing patient conditions, performing life-saving procedures such as CPR and wound treatment, and ensuring safe transport in accordance with established protocols and medical guidelines. You will need to communicate clearly with dispatchers, patients, family members, and hospital staff while maintaining accurate and detailed patient care reports and documentation. Additionally, inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining emergency medical equipment and vehicles will be part of your daily responsibilities. It is crucial to comply with federal, state, and local regulations and protocols, as well as participate in training exercises and continuing education programs to stay updated with the latest practices in the field. To qualify for this role, you must possess a High School Diploma or GED, current EMT certification (EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P depending on the position), and current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. A valid state driver's license with a clean driving record is required, along with the ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
