Job Title: VMC Operator & Programmer Location: talawade Salary 20000 to 30000 1 to 3 years experience Department: Production / VMC Machining Reports To: Production Manager / CNC Shop Supervisor Job Summary: The VMC Operator & Programmer is responsible for creating CNC programs, setting up VMC machines, and executing machining operations to manufacture high-precision components as per technical drawings. This dual-role position requires expertise in CNC programming (G-code, M-code), machine operation, tool selection, and quality inspection. Key Responsibilities: Programming: • Develop and write CNC programs (G-code, M-code) for VMC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM). • Optimize machining strategies for cycle time reduction and tool life. • Simulate and verify programs to avoid collisions or errors before machining. • Modify existing programs to improve performance or accommodate design changes. Machine Operation: • Set up VMC machines with proper tooling, fixtures, and workpieces. • Load CNC programs into the machine and perform dry runs to ensure correctness. • Operate machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings. • Monitor the machining process and make on-the-fly adjustments as needed. Quality Control: • Inspect machined parts using measuring instruments like micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, and CMM (if available). • Ensure all components meet dimensional and surface finish requirements. • Maintain records of inspection results and production output. Maintenance & Safety: • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting. • Maintain a clean and organized workstation. • Follow safety protocols and wear PPE at all times. Qualifications: • ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. • 3–7 years of experience in VMC operation and CNC programming. • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks + CAM plugins). • Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.). • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and process sheets.
