As the ideal candidate for this role, you will represent the Workday platform within the realm of HR applications, acting as the primary ambassador for Workday in this context. Your responsibilities will include partnering with business leaders and People Engineering teams to ensure alignment on objectives and programs, collaborating with key stakeholders to guarantee coherence on goals and initiatives. You will take ownership of the hire-to-retire lifecycle within Workday, managing and supervising the entire lifecycle from hiring to retirement on the Workday platform. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and leading cross-functional efforts to drive Workday product launches, coordinating and leading efforts across various teams to ensure successful product launches. Your role will also involve continuously enhancing the employee experience and optimizing interactions with Workday, focusing on improving user experience and efficiency. Furthermore, you will lead the research, design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday functionality, overseeing the entire process of developing and implementing new features in Workday. To excel in this position, you should possess 5+ years of experience configuring Workday HCM, with demonstrated functional and technical expertise, showcasing your proven proficiency in configuring Workday Human Capital Management. Additionally, you should have 5+ years of experience supporting other Workday products such as Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, Performance, and Learning, demonstrating your experience in supporting various Workday modules. With at least 10 years of experience implementing or managing solutions in Workday, you should have extensive experience in handling Workday solutions. You should also have 5 years of experience observing the health of multiple WD tenants and transforming the solution to improve data integrity, performance, and integration with other products in the HR ecosystem. A deep HR domain expertise and the ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions are essential for this role. Your ability to thrive in a complex and technically ambiguous environment, navigating and succeeding in challenging environments, will be crucial. Overview of the Role The Workday Integration Specialist will serve as a technical solution owner for integrations to and from the Workday platform. This specialist will be responsible for the requirements gathering, solution design, and oversight of technical development to ensure seamless integration and functionality. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience designing and building Workday integrations and exhibit strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges that arise during the integration process. Core Responsibilities Technical Solution Ownership: Act as a primary technical solution owner for integrations involving the Workday platform, overseeing the end-to-end integration process. Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document integration requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of the business needs and technical constraints. Solution Design: Design integration solutions that meet business requirements while maintaining data integrity and system performance. Create detailed technical design documents to guide development. Technical Development Oversight: Oversee the technical development of integrations, working closely with developers to ensure adherence to design specifications and best practices. Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance as needed. Testing and Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to validate integration functionality and performance. Identify and resolve issues discovered during testing. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all integration solutions, including design specifications, testing protocols, and user guides. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Engage in error handling and troubleshooting in partnership with support teams to maintain seamless operation. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with Workday updates and industry best practices, continually seeking opportunities to improve integration processes and technologies. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience designing, building, and/or managing Workday integrations, with a strong understanding of Workday integration tools and technologies. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Workday Studio, Workday EIB, Workday Web Services, and other Workday integration tools. Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, XML, and XSLT preferred. Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple integration projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Certifications: Workday pro certification in integration is highly desirable Daily activities may include: Meet with internal business process owners to gather business requirements for integrations to/from Workday; provide guidance and collaborate on solution design. Document integration requirements and communicate to technical development team and relevant stakeholders. Prototype an integration or report in a non-productive Workday tenant. Review an integration issue and assist with troubleshoot. Engage in testing. Guide business stakeholders through testing and validation. Attend weekly team status and check-in meeting. Research technical solution options to support new business requirements or to continuously improve existing solutions within Workday and the broader global HCM application landscape.
