Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and technicallysavvy planning professional who will design, implement, maintain and support the Workday Adaptive Planning platform to enable budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, reporting and analysis across Finance (and optionally HR, Sales, Operations). The role bridges business/finance and technology, translating financial & operational planning requirements into robust models, dashboards and processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements (Finance, FP&A, HR, Ops) into solution designs within Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Build, configure, and maintain planning models (dimensions, accounts, versions, worksheets/sheets, calculations, shared formulas) within the Workday Adaptive environment.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and visualizations (for example via OfficeConnect or native reporting features) to enable stakeholders with insights.
  • Manage data integration with source systems (ERPs, HCM systems, other planning tools) into Adaptive Planning, ensure data integrity, mappings, workflows.
  • Partner with finance / businessunit stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, longrange planning, scenario modelling and whatif analysis.
  • Provide enduser support, training, documentation, best practices and maintain governance for the planning environment.
  • Monitor model performance / health, identify technical debt/risk areas, implement enhancements or optimisations.
  • Participate in project lifecycle phases: requirement gathering, fitgap, build/configure, test (unit / UAT), deploy, hypercare, ongoing support.
  • Ensure security, access controls and processes are established and maintained (dimension security, version control, workflows).
  • (If appropriate at higher levels) Lead project teams, manage deliverables, engage with clients/leadership, manage scope/timescales, support sales/presales activities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance / Accounting / Business / Engineering or equivalent. MBA / CA desirable.
  • Handson experience (typically 25+ years, depending on level) with Workday Adaptive Planning / Adaptive Insights modelling, reporting, administration.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning & analysis (FP&A) processes: budgeting, forecasting, P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, variance analysis.
  • Demonstrable ability to build planning models: e.g., define dimensions, versions, build sheets, establish formulas, workflows, version control.
  • Experience with data integration: extracting/importing from ERPs, HCM systems, APIs, flatfiles, ensuring data quality & validation.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel (formulas, macros, pivot tables) and comfortable with translating business logic into model logic.
  • Experience in a fastpaced environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • (For senior/manager roles) Experience in fulllifecycle implementations, managing teams, stakeholder management, consulting experience.
