As a Sr. Staff Associate in the Engineering HotBox department, you will provide hands-on support for mechanical and lab-related tasks in various R&D projects. Your responsibilities will include having good hands-on working experience and knowledge of different types of fittings and tubing. You will be expected to perform metal cutting, grinding, and polishing, troubleshoot and repair testers at a basic level, and conduct routine testing as directed by HB engineers. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing test set-up installations or modifications, carrying out mechanical fitting and plumbing work on a daily basis, and maintaining and repairing test stations for the HB team. You will also coordinate with vendors for parts and fixtures, manage inventory items, and ensure proper tracking of entries. Your willingness to perform heavy lifting with safety procedures and use computer operations, including Outlook, Office, and basic Excel data analysis, will be essential. To excel in this role, you should have a good fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering, prior experience with mechanical systems, fittings, tubing, and plumbing, and preferably, experience working in an R&D lab. Your ability to demonstrate good attendance, initiative, responsible follow-through, and a willingness to assist engineers with data processing and report writing will be key. Basic knowledge of CAD modeling software and manipulators will be advantageous. Job Description Organize production setup as per production schedule, assign,task to associates, follow standard procedures, methods,work instructions, adapt & steer primary production activities tofulfil SQCD targets of the shift. Conduct & document checks / LPC to ensure conformance tosafety, quality & shop-floor standards. Record shift events(attendance, breakdowns, quality issues, criticality,performance, etc). Summarize shift events & performance andhandover to next shift FLM to ensure seamless productioncontinuity Track production performance and efficiency KPI (OEE, FPY,scrap, tool life, levelling, fulfilment, etc.), identify and record,deviations, collaborate with CFT members or escalate,impediments to define & ensure execution of corrective actions,to restore & stabilize targeted performance conditions. Organize & lead daily meetings (shift, SQCD, etc) withassociates, CFT members, managers, vendors, etc, to communicate relevant topics, e.g. company initiatives, goals,challenges & success, projects, discipline, performance, etc, touphold transparency, productivity & good working relationship. Engage proactively with associates to sustain an open forum forthem to voice their concerns, grievances, etc. Clarify, advice,counsel, resolve or raise topics to superiors in a fair,transparent & amicable manner to safe guard interests ofassociates & management and build a progressive workenvironment. You will be responsible for ensuring the deployment of a Zero Harm mindset within frontline employees and implementing Safety improvement plans at the site/account. This includes confirming the deployment of Sodexo Safety Net and Client Safety initiatives at the site/account. You will need to conduct Risk Assessments to identify potential risks related to the working environment, machinery, or equipment, and suggest preventive measures to the site manager. Additionally, you will be required to prepare Risk Assessments & Risk Registers, update them post-incident or with new scope additions, and train all frontline staff in hazard identification and reporting. It is essential to communicate risk assessments to the staff. You will also be responsible for preparing and updating the Legal Register, ensuring that all legal compliance is in place, and escalating in case of non-compliances. Safety Walks and Safety Observations need to be conducted regularly, with reports being made in the Salus system and tracked for closure. Creating awareness on Near miss reporting and reporting Near misses in Salus is also a key aspect of the role. In the event of an incident, you will need to inform regional HSE & region Head, investigate the incident, and prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) along with the Site Manager and team. It is crucial to ensure that all root causes corrective actions are implemented at the site and share incident learnings with site teams. Adherence to various HSE practices such as Time temperature, FIFO, Sorting Process, Thawing, salt & Turmeric processes, CCPs, Deep Cleaning, Pest Control, PPM of Equipment, Electrical Safety, Global engineering practices, HSMS processes is also part of the job responsibilities. Monitoring the maintenance of all checklists and records, including Cleaning Checklists, Pest Control Records, 11/ A-L files, Temperature records, COA, E-guarantee form, Invoices, etc., is essential. Any repeated deviations should be escalated. You will need to prepare a Training Matrix, conduct HSE inductions for new joiners, and ensure compliance with the Training Matrix by updating the Site-wise Training Tracker. Safety Campaigns, such as safety day celebrations and safety contests, should be planned and arranged to motivate and spread awareness among staff. Qualifications required for this role include a Graduate/Postgraduate degree in BSC/MSC/B.E/B.Tech in Food/Electrical/Mechanical fields, along with certification as a Lead Auditor in ISO22000/ISO45001 (Optional) and an Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety/IOSH/NEBOSH/Fire and Safety/Food Safety.
