Job Title: Head of Operations Location: Hyderabad Institution: A group of schools with 30 years of excellence Salary: 10 LPA Experience Required: 8–12 years (preferably in the school or education sector) Position Overview: The Head of Operations will oversee and manage the non-academic functions of the school to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations. This role demands strong leadership, administrative acumen, and hands-on experience in managing school operations, facilities, finance coordination, compliance, and support services. The incumbent will serve as the key link between management, staff, vendors, and parents for all operational matters. Key Responsibilities: 1. School Operations Management Oversee the overall functioning of daily school operations and ensure smooth coordination across departments. Supervise support functions such as transport, maintenance, housekeeping, dining, safety, and security. Ensure that all operational processes align with the school’s standards and policies. Support academic and administrative teams with operational needs during school hours and events. 2. Transport Management Supervise school transport operations including route planning, vehicle maintenance, driver supervision, and safety compliance. Ensure timely renewal of vehicle permits, insurance, and fitness certificates. Implement safety protocols for student transport and monitor GPS tracking systems. 3. Facility & Maintenance Management Oversee maintenance of all school buildings, classrooms, sports areas, and infrastructure. Plan preventive maintenance schedules and manage vendor contracts for repairs and services. Ensure the campus is safe, clean, and conducive to a learning environment. 4. Safety & Security Implement and monitor campus safety protocols including CCTV, access control, fire safety, and emergency preparedness. Liaise with local authorities and ensure compliance with statutory and legal safety requirements. 5. Housekeeping & Dining Services Manage housekeeping teams to ensure hygiene and cleanliness across the school premises. Coordinate with dining/catering teams to ensure quality, nutrition, and hygiene in food services. Regularly inspect cafeteria and kitchen operations for compliance with standards. 6. Accounts & Fee Management Coordinate with the accounts department for fee collection, reconciliation, and reporting. Assist in monitoring operational budgets, vendor payments, and financial compliance. Support the management in cost optimization and efficient resource utilization. 7. Event & Activity Support Provide operational and logistical support for school events, annual days, sports meets, examinations, and parent engagement programs. Coordinate manpower, venue arrangements, permissions, and vendor support for smooth event execution. 8. Legal & Regulatory Compliance Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements related to school operations are met (Fire NOC, Pollution Control, Health & Safety, etc.). Maintain documentation and liaise with government departments for renewals, inspections, and submissions. 9. Vendor & Contract Management Identify, evaluate, and manage external vendors and service providers for various operational needs. Negotiate contracts and ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs). 10. Team Leadership & Training Lead and supervise the operations team, providing guidance and performance feedback. Conduct training and awareness sessions for support staff on safety, hygiene, and service standards. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred). 8–12 years of proven experience in operations or administration, preferably in reputed schools or educational institutions. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of school operational systems, compliance regulations, and safety standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Office and school ERP systems. Work Schedule: Full-time, on-site role.
