Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Lead Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, development and implementation of control systems, electrical components and mechanical designs while leading a team of engineers. This role requires technical expertise, strong leadership skills and the ability to manage projects efficiently to ensure high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities Control & Electrical System Design: • Design, develop and integrate control systems for machinery and automation. • Specify and select electrical components (motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, relays, etc.). • Develop wiring diagrams, circuit layouts and control panel schematics. • Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards. • Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for efficiency and reliability. Mechanical Design: • Lead the design team and development of mechanical systems and structures. • Use Solidwork software to create 2D/3D models and detailed drawings. • Perform engineering calculations for strength, load and thermal analysis. • Select materials and components for mechanical assemblies. • Ensure manufacturability, assembly feasibility and maintenance accessibility. Team Leadership & Management: • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure project milestones are met. • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project updates, challenges and solutions. • Provide training and guidance to enhance team skills and performance. • Foster a collaborative and problem-solving culture within the team. System Integration & Testing: • Coordinate electrical and mechanical designs for seamless system integration. • Perform prototype testing, validation and troubleshooting. • Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve design issues. • Optimize designs for cost, reliability and ease of maintenance. Project Management & Coordination: • Plan, schedule and execute engineering projects effectively. • Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement. • Monitor project budgets, resources and timelines to ensure efficiency. • Prepare and present reports to management on project progress and challenges. • Identify areas for improvement in electrical and mechanical design processes. • Research and implement new technologies for better performance and efficiency. Requirements/Skills and Abilities: • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Control Engineering. • Minimum 10 + years of experience in control systems, electricals and mechanical design. • Proven experience in leading and managing an engineering team. • Knowledge of design in SolidWorks. • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems. • Knowledge of electrical codes, wiring standards and safety regulations. • Hands-on experience in designing and troubleshooting control panels and circuits. • Understanding of mechanical design principles and material selection. • Strong leadership and team management abilities. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Effective communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
