Ensure patching compliance and resolve any issues that arise during patch deployments. System Monitoring & Maintenance : Monitor and manage Windows virtual machines (VMs) and hosts on VMware and Nutanix platforms. Perform routine maintenance tasks to optimize system performance and minimize downtime. VMware & Nutanix Infrastructure : Manage VMware ESXi hosts, vSphere environments, and Nutanix AHV (Acropolis Hypervisor). Oversee VM creation, configuration, and management on VMware and Nutanix platforms. Work with VMware and Nutanix administrators to support performance tuning and troubleshooting. Patch and Configuration Management : Implement and ensure proper configuration management practices are followed in Windows, VMware, and Nutanix systems. Collaborate with other IT teams for efficient management of configurations, software upgrades, and patching schedules. Incident and Problem Management : Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows operating systems, VMware, and Nutanix infrastructure. Work closely with support teams to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate documentation for all patching activities, including change requests, testing, and post-implementation reports. Produce regular patching and system performance reports for management review. Security Compliance : Ensure all systems remain compliant with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and verify security patches to safeguard against vulnerabilities. Automation & Scripting : Utilize PowerShell, Ansible, or other scripting tools to automate patching and system maintenance tasks. Collaborate in the development of automated workflows for patch management and system updates. Qualifications & Skills: Experience : Proven experience in managing and patching Windows-based systems within VMware and Nutanix environments. Strong experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) and Nutanix AHV or Prism. Experience with patch management tools and processes, including WSUS, SCCM, and other automation solutions. Technical Skills : Solid understanding of Windows Server environments (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019). Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi) and Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure. Familiarity with security patching processes, best practices, and industry standards. Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for task automation. Certifications (Preferred but not required): VMware Certified Professional (VCP). Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP). Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Windows Server. ITIL Foundation Certification. Problem-Solving & Communication : Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to quickly address technical issues. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Attention to Detail : Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage highly complex environments with accuracy. Ability to document and report activities clearly and concisely.
