Job Purpose This role is responsible for sourcing of categories like Stamping, Fabrication & Weldment.  The role will guarantee that the sourcing is rightfully made in accordance with local/global strategy to ensure the competitiveness, reliability, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities Drive Global sourcing for EMEA, NAFTA and LATAM regions from India supplier base New Product development – To enable various activities of Design Reviews, Supplier Interactions, Development Plans, Technical support to meet project timelines. To interact with peers of various functions like Supply-chain, SQE, PD, Plant Quality, PDP and AMS. Has to interact on activities like NPD bottlenecks, Suppliers evaluation, PIR resolution, Current product improvement, support to supply chain bottlenecks etc. Supplier selection, negotiation, contract establishment in line with local/global strategy for new model/current product parts within target cost and time Ensuring Purchasing processes and system are followed to establish business contracts with suppliers as per DoA Managing material cost including raw material, economics, productivity etc; Experience Required 12 to 18 years of experience in Off-highway/ Automotive/ Industrial industry preferred Knowledge of commodity to be handled and Industry overview is desired. Exposure of purchasing/sourcing in a matrix environment (mandatory with global sourcing experience) Understanding of supplier base, process knowledge, zero base costing/cost analysis. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of sheet metal design , weldments , and DXF file preparation for laser cutting and fabrication. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop sheet metal parts, enclosures, and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for fabrication and assembly. Prepare accurate DXF files for laser cutting, bending, and punching processes. Utilise SolidWorks sheet metal and weldments features for efficient and manufacturable designs. Apply correct bend allowances, K-factors, and tolerances for precision fabrication. Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility. Maintain design documentation, BOMS, and revision control. Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (with sheet metal and weldments modules) and AutoCAD . Experience in creating flat patterns and export-ready DXF files for laser cutting. Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in sheet metal manufacturing, metal fabrication, and welding using SolidWorks . The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating detailed engineering drawings in accordance with international standards (ASME Y14.5), with a focus on standardization and automation in design processes. Key Responsibilities: Create and modify SolidWorks 3D models , assemblies, and detailed drawings, with a focus on sheet metal , routing , and piping . Interpret and apply ASME Y14.5 standards and GD&T practices in all technical drawings. Apply a deep understanding of welding symbols , fabrication methods , and heavy metal engineering principles. Ensure design quality and manufacturability through knowledge of metal fabrication processes and manufacturing constraints . Identify and utilize standard components and materials relevant to the sheet metal and fabrication industry. Understand and interpret client requirements and provide design solutions that align with manufacturing capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively via verbal and written communication , including emails and documentation. Contribute to the standardization and automation of design processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.
