You should have a strong understanding of New Product Development (NPD) for On/Off highway vehicles, material handling, or mobile equipment, including vehicle integration of various automobile aggregates. Additionally, you must possess in-depth knowledge of the different sub-systems found in Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Tractor Trailers, Stackers, Forklifts, etc. Experience in sheet metal, fabrication parts, and welding design is essential for this role. You should also be familiar with the materials used in structural design and have expertise in technical concept development and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE). A solid grasp of design and engineering fundamentals, as well as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), is necessary. Your responsibilities will also include building CAD models, assemblies, drawings for integration, and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation in Product Data Management (PDM) software. You should be capable of independently managing critical tasks and projects while ensuring quality and meeting project deadlines. Reviewing and validating manufacturing drawings in compliance with relevant standards will be part of your duties. Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), PDM systems, and engineering change management is required. Proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting is essential, with a particular focus on CATIA V5. This position requires a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7-10 years of experience. Additionally, knowledge of hydraulic systems would be advantageous for this role.,
