Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Perform welding operations (MIG, TIG welding) as per job requirements and specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.
Set up welding machines, select appropriate electrodes/wire, and adjust parameters as per material type and thickness.
Weld sheet metal, structures, and fabricated components to required quality standards.
Inspect welded joints visually and with measuring instruments for accuracy and finish.
Identify welding defects (porosity, cracks, undercut, etc.) and take corrective actions.
Maintain proper handling of tools, equipment, and welding consumables.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and comply with safety guidelines, including PPE usage.
Carry out grinding, finishing, and cleaning of welded parts as required.
Support fabrication and assembly teams in completing production tasks.
Maintain production records and report job completion status.
Keep work area clean, organized, and follow 5S practices.
