This role is a fantastic opportunity to develop our online offering, with a high level of variety and significant scope for creative input and technical development. Key Responsibilities Maintain, update and improve existing websites across the Group using WordPress and Shopify CMS platforms. Design and develop new websites as required, planning website layouts and structures, ensuring a professional look, seamless user experience, and full functionality. Ensure all websites are optimised for speed and performance, security, SEO and mobile responsiveness. Ensure websites display seamlessly across different browsers. A keen interest in the potential of artificial intelligence for websites and marketing campaigns. Implement and manage plugins, widgets, CRM, payment gateways and other technical integrations. Monitor site analytics, troubleshoot issues and carry out regular performance reviews. Test and debug websites and fix website issues. Drive the website strategy and contribute ideas to improve customer experience and increase online engagement and conversions. Take regular backups of the websites and save in the cloud storage. Maintain databases to store website data. Knowledge of domain and hosting management and access cPanel/DNS settings. Work closely with UK and Chennai teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective web solutions providing regular progress updates to both teams. Websites to manage/develop Compton Group The parent company website. An information portal with payment pages for ground rent, service charge and insurance. Direct Tile Warehouse - Large e-commerce site selling tiles to public and trade customers. Constant refreshing of the site and improvements in user experience is required. Authentic India Tours - Travel site offering tours in India and neighbouring countries. A full site redevelopment is planned. Maydi+ - A recently launched new skincare range based on Frankincense. Compton Outsourcing - A new site to develop promoting outsourced back-office services to third-party clients. Ballard Homes - A small information site. The business is constantly evolving, with new ideas welcomed from all employees. There are always new projects on the horizon, so this list is not exhaustive. Required Skills and Experience Over 3 years of experience with strong expertise in WordPress and Shopify CMS development and customisation Proven experience with plugins, payment integrations and e-commerce systems Sound understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and responsive design principles Knowledge of generating and pushing data layers in the CMS platforms Experience in using artificial intelligence to assist in the development of websites Familiar with the implementation of Cookies/Google consent policy and GDPR adherence. Good eye for design and detail, with a strong focus on user experience (UX) and functionality Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks efficiently Proactive, commercially aware, and confident working independently and in a team Desirable Skills Familiarity with technical SEO and website optimisation Understanding of security best practices for websites Experience working with international teams or clients Why Join Us?
