Responsibilities: The Software Engineer is an entry level to medium level software developer with broad knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of software development, including unit testing, which are the core responsibilities of this role. The person is expected to comply with RSM s SDLC, working under moderate supervision while making sound decisions to effectively move assignments forward. Candidates must exhibit good problem-solving skills and be able to take action or make decisions, within the scope of their role, to solve moderately difficult problems, including analysis and design, and own the resolution of the issue through implementation. The role requires continuous growth of technical, business, and people skills as well as producing documentation that complies with development standards. The Software Engineer must communicate project deliverables when expected and provide written communications which clearly articulate what is being said or asked for. This person is expected to foster a team environment where all members are encouraged to be part of the solution and leadership is aware of important actions being taken. Communication should be proactive so that issues are avoided, and project resources are used effectively and efficiently. In this role, the Software Engineer is expected to escalate issues to Team Lead or Project Manager in a timely manner and be comfortable speaking one on one or to groups and deliver messages that are easily understood. Provide L2/L3 support for WebFOCUS reports, dashboards, and data extracts across business units Write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries to support reporting and data quality validation Investigate and resolve incidents related to report performance, data inconsistencies, and system errors Collaborate with business users, BI developers, and database administrators to address and resolve issues quickly Participate in on-call rotations or provide 24/7 support as needed for critical production issues or scheduled maintenance Ensure end-to-end data integrity from source systems to front-end reporting tools Document support procedures, incident resolutions, and system configurations Assist in WebFOCUS upgrades, patching, and system configuration activities Support testing and validation for new reports, enhancements, and database changes

Role & responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain WebFOCUS reports, dashboards, and portals . Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and convert them into scalable BI solutions. Optimize queries, reports, and portal performance to ensure a seamless user experience. Maintain and administer the WebFOCUS environment , including upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting. Integrate WebFOCUS with various data sources such as Oracle, SQL Server, and flat files. Ensure data security , access controls, and compliance standards are implemented in the BI solutions. Document system design, technical specifications, and user manuals. Participate in UAT, performance testing, and deployment processes. Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of deliverables. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with WebFOCUS (8.x or higher) . Proficiency in InfoAssist, App Studio, ReportCaster , and WebFOCUS Designer . Strong SQL skills and understanding of data warehousing concepts . Experience working with OLAP, ETL pipelines, and data models . Solid understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS for custom report development. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and DevOps practices . Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of REST APIs and WebFOCUS API integrations. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative tools like JIRA or Confluence. Certification in Information Builders WebFOCUS (preferred but not mandatory).

The Software Engineer Senior is a medium level to advanced level software developer with the ability to lead a team of up to 4 giving work assignments while meeting delivery dates and quality to meet budgets, milestones and deadlines for assigned projects. All of the primary responsibilities and skills are assumed. The person in this position is expected to attain mastery of RSM's SDLC and knowing which SDLC activities and deliverables are required, scaling them to each project. They can resolve moderate to difficult problems, lead the resolution of those problems, while demonstrating expertise in a variety of technical concepts, practices, and procedures. The Software Engineer Senior is able to work independently while making sound decisions that move projects forward effectively. The Software Engineer Senior ensures team members are coached through their assignments and show growth at the end of each project. This role also arranges mentoring by other team members while taking ownership of skill growth of their project team and other projects. This role is expected to escalate issues to Director/Manager App Dev in a timely manner in order to prevent project delays and take ownership of estimating development effort for these projects.
