Web Designer

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Website Designer to design visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites. The Website Designer will be responsible for translating business and user needs into design concepts, mockups, prototypes, and final designs, and collaborating with developers to bring those designs to life.

• Meet with clients or internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, brand guidelines, target audience, and business goals.
• Research design trends, competitor websites, and user behaviors to inform design decisions.
• Prepare site architecture: sitemap, navigation structure, user flows.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes to show layouts, how features look and work.
• Design graphic elements and visual assets: logos, icons, images, animations (if needed), typography, color schemes.
• Ensure designs are responsive and work well on different devices (mobile, tablet, desktop) and different browsers.
• Collaborate closely with developers (front-end/back-end) to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Conduct usability testing or gather user feedback, iterate on designs to improve UX.
• Optimize web pages for performance (fast load times, optimized graphics) and ensure they are SEO-friendly
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g. for differently-abled users), legal/privacy constraints.
• Maintain existing web pages or sites: updates, bug fixes, content changes, revisions.
• Manage projects: plan, estimate time, meet deadlines, communicate progress to stakeholders.

• Proven experience as a Web Designer (or similar role), with a strong portfolio of past website designs.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and possibly basic JavaScript for rapid prototypes (though development tasks may be handled by front-end developers).
• Strong skills in UI/UX design, including usability, interaction design, navigation, responsive design.
• Good understanding of branding, typography, color theory, layout principles.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and optimizing design for performance.

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Web Design, Digital Media, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, HTML, CSS, etc
• Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing, debugging display issues.
• Experience with prototyping tools and ability to present and defend design decisions
