Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis and Repair: Inspecting watches for faults, disassembling them, identifying damaged or worn parts, and repairing or replacing them.
• Cleaning and Lubrication: Cleaning and lubricating watch movement components to ensure smooth operation and longevity.
• Reassembly and Adjustment: Reassembling watches, adjusting their accuracy, and testing their functionality.
• Customer Interaction: Communicating with customers about repair needs, providing quotes, and explaining the repair process.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of repairs, parts used, and costs.
• Parts Management: Ordering and managing a stock of watch parts and tools.
• Workshop Maintenance: Maintaining tools and the workshop environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills: Expertise in watchmaking techniques, understanding of different watch movements (mechanical, automatic, quartz), and proficiency in using watchmaking tools.
• Dexterity and Precision: A high level of manual dexterity and attention to detail is essential for handling small watch parts.
• Problem-Solving: The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with watches.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication with customers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of Watch Brands: Familiarity with different watch brands and their specific repair requirements is often preferred.
• Education and Training: Completion of watchmaking courses or apprenticeships is generally required.
