WeCare is hiring – Senior Manager (Secretariat) WeCare, an industry consortium working on Plastic Waste Management and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) , is seeking a Senior Manager – Secretariat to support its strategic initiatives and engagement with stakeholders. The role will require: Facilitating proactive engagement with authorities and industry members on PWM Rules and EPR compliance Supporting consultative processes with government bodies and representing industry perspectives Coordinating consortium activities including policy advocacy, workshops, annual meetings, and research on emerging trends Managing budgets, reporting, vendor coordination, and project monitoring in alignment with consortium objectives Eligibility: At least 10 years of experience in Plastic Waste Management / EPR regulations Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Prior experience with trade associations or consortiums is an advantage Educational background in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Business Administration or related field (Master’s degree preferred) This position offers an opportunity to contribute to policy development, compliance support, and strategic engagement in a sector of growing national importance.

Job Description Job Title: Senior Manager – Secretariat Organization: Waste Efficient Collection and Recycling Efforts (WeCare)- Industry Consortium on Plastic Waste Management and EPR Reports to: Governing Body of the Consortium Position Overview The Senior Manager – Secretariat will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Plastic Waste Management (PWM) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) . The role requires facilitating proactive engagement with authorities, industry members, and waste management service providers while ensuring effective governance, policy advocacy, and operational excellence of the consortium. Key Responsibilities Policy & Strategy Support the consortium in formulating strategies to ensure compliance with the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 (as amended) and state-level directives. Facilitate consultative processes with government authorities and represent industry perspectives on PWM and EPR matters. Conduct research on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices to inform policy advocacy and consortium initiatives. Develop and advocate policies that promote sustainable plastic waste management practices. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation Build and strengthen relationships with government agencies, industry members, and relevant organizations. Organize and manage industry events, workshops, and conferences to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration. Coordinate and manage the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the consortium. Prepare and disseminate reports, newsletters, and communications to keep members updated on developments. Program & Project Management Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of consortium activities, including action plan development and monitoring. Supervise project staff, consultants, and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of outputs. Oversee vendor partnerships to ensure adequate resourcing, performance management, and quality outcomes. Ensure effective monitoring of project activities, assets, and resources in line with financing agreements. Governance & Reporting Work closely with the governing body to support all core activities of the consortium. Ensure timely preparation of progress reports for submission to industry members. Maintain accurate and well-organized project records, documentation, and inventory. Undertake any other tasks assigned by the President of the Consortium. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional experience with strong knowledge of Plastic Waste Management regulations. Prior experience in industry associations, consortiums, or trade bodies is an advantage. Skills & Competencies Strong networking and relationship management skills. Proven project management expertise. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
