The role of Operations Consultant at Streamliners involves working with a management consulting firm that specializes in rapid efficiency improvements, operational excellence, and fast turnaround for manufacturers and private equity owned portfolio companies in North America and Europe. As an Operations Consultant, you will collaborate closely with clients in various industries to implement steps that drive performance improvements and maximize profit margins. The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced and self-directed problem solver with a track record of achievement. You should excel in conducting and leading various analyses like process capacity modeling, bottleneck analysis, waste reduction, KPI creation, root cause analysis, and workforce analysis. In this role, you will work alongside other consultants and clients on-site to deliver transformation objectives. You will take ownership of workstreams and execute effective improvement plans within operations, ranging from shop floor enhancements to fundamental changes in work processes and information flows. Additionally, you will serve clients in a project manager capacity for turnarounds, transformations, and expansions. Key responsibilities of the Operations Consultant include serving as a project leader, problem-solving technical manufacturing issues, leveraging data to prioritize improvement opportunities, driving change in client operations, transforming manufacturing processes, conducting due diligence studies, recommending actions, and delivering high-quality client work. The qualifications for this role include 4+ years of experience in high-performance manufacturing, 3+ years of leadership and management experience, a Bachelor's degree (preferably a Master's) in STEM, Operations, or Business, strong functional knowledge in areas like discrete manufacturing and project management, effective communication and organizational skills, and a willingness to travel to the US and Europe for 2-3 months per year. Preferred qualifications for the Operations Consultant role at Streamliners include a background in Lean Six Sigma, experience in management consulting or large-scale change management, direct operating experience with P&L accountability, and international work experience.
