Position- Phlebotomist

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Phlebotomist to be part of our Centre. The role demands not only technical proficiency in sample collection but also a strong service orientation to ensure a compassionate, hygienic, and professional client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Sample Collection & Handling

• Perform blood and other sample collections with precision, following standard protocols and highest hygiene standards.
• Maintain sample integrity and follow protocols for cold chain and biohazard handling.

Client Interaction

• Interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner, offering reassurance and comfort during the procedure.
• Explain the process clearly, manage queries calmly, and ensure client comfort at every step.
• Maintain client privacy and confidentiality during all interactions.

Pre & Post Collection Protocols

• Verify client identity, test requirements, and consent before collection.
• Provide post-collection care and guidance (e.g., applying bandage, advising rest if needed).
• Maintain and replenish consumables, kits, and phlebotomy area as per standards.

Documentation & Reporting

• Accurately fill in requisition forms, logs, and electronic records as per protocol.
• Flag any discrepancies in test requests or patient information to the concerned authority.

Compliance & Hygiene

• Follow all safety protocols, PPE usage, and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in regular quality audits, training, and SOP refreshers.

Key Requirements:

• Qualification:

  B.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology.

• Experience:

  5+ years in phlebotomy.

• Skills:

• Excellent venipuncture technique with minimal discomfort to the client
• Soft-spoken, empathetic, and professional in dealing with high-value clients
• Strong attention to detail and procedural discipline
• Presentable and well-groomed, with good communication skills
