We are currently seeking a passionate Web Accessibility Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our CoE team. As a Web Accessibility SME on our team, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in technical accessibility and accessibility standards to provide expert-level accessibility consulting. This role requires a high level of self-drive, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your key responsibilities will include: - Utilizing your experience with technical accessibility and accessibility standards to conduct remediation efforts through technical methodologies for accessibility testing. - Performing accessibility evaluations of web applications, documenting findings, and offering actionable recommendations. - Reviewing and providing guidance on design, code, and content for accessibility in collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams. - Engaging with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle and maintaining a positive and effective team representation. - Contributing to the development and delivery of accessibility training, tooling, and standards. Minimum Qualifications: - Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and client-side Javascript frameworks. - Familiarity with WCAG 2.x guidelines and WAI-ARIA. - Experience in implementing accessibility testing methodologies. - Strong hands-on experience in testing with assistive technologies like VoiceOver, JAWS, and NVDA. - Ability to write accessible code solutions using web technologies. - Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in software engineering focusing on web accessibility. - Aptitude for independently learning new technologies. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships. - Capacity to handle multiple projects and adapt to a dynamic working environment.
