Operational Support Systems (OSS) Platform Engineering is a new team within the newly formed Network OSS & Tools functional unit in the Network Product domain at Barclays. The Barclays OSS Platform Engineering team is responsible for the design, build and run of the underlying OSS infrastructure and toolchain across cloud and on-prem that the core systems and tools required to run the Barclays Global Network reside on. Skills To be successful in this role as an Infrastructure Engineer in the Barclays OSS Platform Engineering team, you should possess the following skillsets: Hands-on expertise with IaC, Cloud Platforms, CI/CD Pipelines, Containerization & Orchestration and SRE principles; in a product organization with engineering leadership responsibilities. Strong Knowledge and demonstrable hands-on experience with IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi etc and resource management frameworks like Apache Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn. Additionally strong expertise in Lunix OS and monitoring/logging/Observability using Open-source tools like Prometheus/Grafana/ELK. Programming expertise in one of the high-level languages like Python, Java, Golang and strong architectural and systems design knowledge (scalability and resilience patterns, DB's - RDBMS & NoSQL, multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architecture understanding). Some Other Highly Valued Skills Include Expertise working in Network and infrastructure operational product engineering and knowledge of Network Protocols - TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, IPSec, etc. CCNA or equivalent certification an added advantage. Expertise in Network Security and Network Automation an added advantage.
