Role Overview We are hiring for a Product Designer, specializing in XR simulators, who will be at the forefront of designing and developing cutting-edge simulators that provide immersive experiences. Your primary responsibility will be to design and build simulators for industrial use cases, create custom attachments for XR controllers using 3D printed components, and ensure seamless integration with various XR headsets for proper tracking and use. Key Responsibilities Conceptualize, design, and prototype XR simulators, ensuring they meet the specific objectives and requirements of our clients. Integrate embedded systems and microcontrollers into simulators to enhance functionality and interactivity. Work with electrical components and microprogramming to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. Ensure proper integration of simulators with XR (VR/MR) headsets, including alignment of tracking systems and calibration of sensors for accurate user interaction. Build prototypes of simulators and custom attachments for testing and evaluation purposes. Design and develop custom attachments for XR controllers using 3D printed components. Ensure ergonomic design and functionality of attachments to enhance user experience and training effectiveness. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to optimize simulator performance and usability. Conduct usability testing and gather feedback from end users to iterate on designs and improve product functionality. Create detailed documentation of simulator designs, including specifications, assembly instructions, and maintenance procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations governing simulator design and manufacturing processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechatronics, or related field. Proven experience in product design and development, preferably in the XR or simulation industry. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and design. Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and microprogramming. Experience with 3D printing technology and prototyping methods is a plus. Strong understanding of product design principles and methodologies. Familiarity with XR technology, including VR and AR headsets, tracking systems, and motion controllers. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
